New Year’s Dragon

This dragon was painted on a 26 inch wood saw.  It depicts a flying dragon under the New Years fireworks and has in gold lettering the Chinese characters saying Gung Chow Fa Choy the traditional New Year’s greeting.  It was sold to a collector in Indiana.

Dreams – Herb Brooks

You know, Willie Wonka said it best: We are the makers of dreams, the dreamers of dreams. We should be dreaming. We grew up as kids having dreams, but now we’re too sophisticated as adults, as a nation. We stopped dreaming. We should always have dreams. I’m a dreamer.

Star Wars

My nephew is a big Star Wars fan so for his birthday I did a saw with the the Millennium Falcon heading towards the Death Star chased by a TIE fighter.  An X-wing was attacking the Death Star while an Imperial cruise is in the background.  He loved it.

Hunting Doctors

Three doctors are out geese-hunting. A gaggle flies over and the oncologist raises and then lowers his gun. “I better conduct an MRI first to determine if those were really geese.” Some more geese fly by & the endocrinologist raises his gun and then lowers it. “I’ll need some bloodwork to conduct an A1C and determine what those birds were first.” Some more geese fly over. The trauma doc raises his shotgun and blows them out of the sky. “What were those things, anyway?” he asks.

The Cheshire Cat

I bought some Glow paints to play around under black lights.  I thought the Cheshire cat would make a perfect UV painting, as an added bonus he also glows in the dark.  The first photo is under normal light, the second UV light and the third in the dark.

Attitude – Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company …a church …a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past …we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude …I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you …we are in charge of our attitudes.

Where’s God

Two little boys were known troublemakers, stealing everything they could get their hands, even from the church. One day a priest stopped one of the boys and asked, “Where is God?” The boy shrugged and the priest repeated, “Where is God?” The boy ran out of the cathedral crying to his home where he hid in a closet. Eventually his brother found him and asked, “What’s wrong?” The crying boy replied, “We’re in trouble now! God is missing and they think we took him!”
